Principal Storey grew up in the Portland area and found her way to education through Oregon State University (Go Beavs!) and a Master's in Teaching from Concordia University. She launched her teaching career in 2006 in the classroom where it all started, Sisters Middle School, teaching English Language Arts and falling in love with this community. In 2012 she joined the Redmond School District, and after earning her Administrative Licensure through the University of Oregon, she stepped into leadership as Dean of Students at Obsidian Middle School. Five years there, then five more as Assistant Principal at Elton Gregory Middle School, built the foundation for what she'd always been working toward, coming back to Sisters to lead SES as principal. Some places just have a pull to them.

Outside of school, Megan's life is full and loud in the best possible way. She and her husband, also an educator, are raising two daughters, two Bernese Mountain Dogs, and two cats who are, by all accounts, extremely entertaining. On any given weekend you might find her cheering from the bleachers at a volleyball match or softball game, nose-deep in a book (usually more than one at a time), or doing something a little more adventurous, rafting remote canyons with her family when the weather cooperates. It's that same love of challenge, community, and wide open spaces that makes Sisters feel like exactly the right place to be.

At Sisters Elementary School, we believe the most powerful lessons students learn come not only from what we teach, but from what we model every day. Our staff understands that children are always watching, learning from how adults treat one another, navigate challenges, and show kindness, respect, and integrity. While academic excellence is an important part of our mission, we are equally committed to helping students grow into resilient, compassionate, and responsible people. Our hope is that every child leaves SES not only as a stronger learner, but as a genuinely good human being who is prepared to make a positive difference in the world.

This belief shapes the way our school is led. Our leadership philosophy is grounded in servant leadership, recognizing that the best way to support students is by supporting the incredible educators, staff, and families who surround them each day. We strive to foster a culture where people feel valued, trusted, and empowered to do their best work. Whether that means lending a hand, listening first, or working alongside others to solve challenges, we believe leadership is about serving others with humility and purpose. When every member of our school community feels supported, our students thrive, and that is at the heart of everything we do.
