Jacob Nicholls serves as Director of Operations for Sisters School District, where he leads district wide facilities management, operational planning, nutrition and transportation. Beginning his career in facilities in 2013 and later advancing through leadership roles in the hotel industry, Jacob brings a deep background in luxury service and high‑standards operations to his work in public education. Originally from New Zealand and passionate about the outdoors, Jacob views his role in Sisters as a tremendous opportunity to adapt his service‑driven skill sets to benefit the community. His focus is on cultivating environments where students, staff, and families can see and feel the pride invested in the district’s facilities and spaces that reflect care, quality, and a commitment to the well‑being of every learner.

Education is about preparing young people for lives of purpose, wisdom, and meaningful contribution. Academic excellence remains essential, but schools also have the responsibility to help students discover a sense of purpose and hope for the future by becoming curious truth seekers who ask thoughtful questions, evaluate ideas with discernment, think critically, solve authentic problems, and act with integrity. Learning should inspire students to discover their unique individual strengths while developing the character and judgment needed to use those strengths in service of others.

The ultimate goal is to help every student leave school with the knowledge, character, purpose, and hope to continue learning, contribute to their community, and navigate an ever-changing world with wisdom, discernment, courage, and integrity.
