Home of the Outlaws

Sisters School District, located at the base of the Three Sisters Mountains in beautiful Central Oregon, is a special place with a culture based on enduring relationships, a highly involved and integrated community, and an intentional connection to the outdoors. We strive to ensure all students are known and taught as individuals in order to reach their full potential, supported by learning opportunities that help students discover purpose and meaning in their educational journey.

This is accomplished by our instructional team focusing on skills that build confidence in our students’ intellectual, social, and emotional competencies, to work collaboratively, think critically, communicate effectively, and pursue their individual passions in a place-based and project-based learning environment.

Our strong core curriculum is enhanced by a wide range of unique programs, co-curricular activities, and electives that connect students to their schools, develop their sense of place, and bring academics to life. Whether in a core class or one of our signature programs, the same passion is poured into the students and curriculum.

These intentional efforts ensure our students engage others with kindness and connection, and contribute meaningfully to their communities as citizens of the world. Our instructional team nurtures the intellectual, emotional, and social development of every student through place-based and project-based learning. We offer a rich curriculum enhanced by co-curriculars, unique programs, and real-world connections that prepare students to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Belong

Ensure each student feels safe, known, and valued. When students feel they truly belong, they thrive. That’s why we are deepening our commitment to connection, building on our strong foundation of relationships to reach every student more meaningfully. We are cultivating a dynamic, learner-centered environment where every student is known deeply, supported holistically, and celebrated fully. Through authentic relationships, inclusive spaces, and community-rooted partnerships, we are fostering a culture of care, purpose, and connection. From daily advisory circles to wellness-driven supports and family engagement networks, our approach ensures every student has the relationships, resources, and resilience they need to grow. Belonging isn’t a program, it’s the heartbeat of a school where every child feels safe, significant, and ready to shine.

Prepare

Equip students with the knowledge, mindsets, and skills to thrive. Every student is on a purposeful path to graduation and is taking an active role in their academic achievement, goal setting, and character development. Every student develops the skills, knowledge, and mindset to thrive in a changing world. We are deepening our commitment to creating dynamic, future-ready learning environments that empower students to grow with confidence and purpose. Through engaging, personalized pathways and meaningful academic challenges, we are helping students discover who they are, what they care about, and how they will make an impact. This includes aligning rigorous, relevant instruction with real-world application, nurturing foundational skills in literacy and math, and supporting every student to thrive as an adaptive, lifelong learner.

Inspire

Ignite purpose and passion through real-world, personalized learning. Every student is empowered to discover their passions and strengths through exceptional programs, community partnerships, and inclusive practices. We are cultivating a culture where curiosity leads, creativity thrives, and every learner is inspired to explore boldly. Through hands-on projects, immersive experiences, and access to mentors and real-world opportunities, we invite students to connect their learning to purpose, and their purpose to the world. From environmental expeditions to entrepreneurial ventures, students are encouraged to take risks, pursue their interests, and design their futures with voice and agency. Inspiration isn’t something we deliver, it’s something we unlock. By fostering imagination, innovation, and joyful exploration, we ensure every student sees themselves as a capable creator, a courageous thinker, and a powerful change-maker.
