Communicable Diseases
Communicable Diseases
Sisters School District is committed to maintaining healthy, safe learning environments for all students and staff. We work closely with the OHA (Oregon Health Authority), ODE (Oregon Department of Education), and Deschutes County Public Health to help prevent, monitor, and respond to communicable diseases in our schools.
Each school maintains a Communicable Disease Management Plan that outlines district procedures for disease prevention, symptom monitoring, illness exclusion and return-to-school guidance, communication with families, coordination with public health officials, and response protocols during periods of increased illness or disease outbreaks. The plans also describe health and safety practices such as hygiene, cleaning and disinfection, isolation procedures, staff training, and strategies that help reduce the spread of illness while supporting safe, in-person learning.
