First, update your child's address with the student’s School Office. Once the address change has been processed, contact Transportation. Transportation staff will coordinate with the bus driver, and your student can begin riding their assigned route once the new rider information has been confirmed.

Students should arrive at their assigned bus stop at least three minutes before the scheduled pick-up time. Buses may arrive a few minutes earlier or later than the published schedule due to traffic, weather, or road conditions, and drivers cannot wait for students who arrive late.

If you believe a bus stop should be added or relocated, please sumbit a Permanent Stop Change Request Form to transpotation. Your request will be reviewed using district transportation guidelines and safety standards.
Requests are reviewed individually and may take up to 10 business days to process. If approved, the route update may require up to five additional business days to implement, as families affected by the change must be notified.
Please do not ask a bus driver to make an unscheduled stop. State transportation regulations prohibit drivers from making unauthorized route changes.

Yes. Students attending school through an approved Inter-District Transfer may be eligible for transportation if all of the following conditions are met:
- A parent or guardian contacts Transportation or your student’s School Office at least one school day in advance (except in emergencies).
- The requested stop is on an existing route with available seating.
- No additional bus stop is required.
- The student is eligible for district transportation.
Please note:
- All requests must be approved by Transportation.
- Students may not give notes directly to the bus driver.
Transportation approval for transfer students does not automatically continue from year to year. A new request must be submitted and approved at the beginning of each school year.

Yes. Students may ride to or from an approved daycare location, provided the daycare is located on an existing bus route and transportation arrangements have been approved by Transportation. The daycare location will serve as the student's regular bus stop.

Occasionally, transportation to an alternate location may be approved through a temporary bus pass if district guidelines are met, including available seating and an existing stop on a regular route.
Bus passes are intended for unforeseen or emergency situations and are not issued for sleepovers, birthday parties, playdates, or extracurricular activities. Parents and guardians are responsible for transportation to these types of events.
Requests should be made at least one business day in advance through Transportation or your student’s School Office. Bus drivers cannot accept notes or verbal requests directly from students or parents.

No. For student safety, students may only leave the bus at their assigned stop or at school. Parents or guardians may not remove students from the bus at another stop along the route.

If a student misses the bus, the parent or guardian is responsible for providing transportation to or from school that day.

Afternoon arrival times are estimates and may vary due to traffic, weather, road conditions, or other delays.
If your child's bus has not arrived within a reasonable time, please contact Transportation. Contact information can be found by clicking "Contact Us" at the bottom of this page. Dispatch staff can communicate directly with the driver and provide an updated estimated arrival time.

When weather, road conditions, or other circumstances affect transportation services, Sisters School District will communicate important updates as quickly as possible through ParentSquare, the district website, and local media outlets when appropriate.
