Safety Training

Creating safe schools requires ongoing preparation, continuous learning, and a shared commitment from everyone who works with students. At Sisters School District, all employees complete mandatory annual safety training designed to meet state and federal requirements while reinforcing best practices for maintaining safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments.

Training covers a wide range of topics, including emergency preparedness, student supervision, workplace safety, mandated reporting, harassment prevention, cybersecurity, bloodborne pathogens, hazardous materials, chemical and toxic product safety, integrated pest management, and many other areas that help protect students, staff, and visitors. Throughout the year, employees also participate in additional training and emergency drills to ensure they remain prepared to respond confidently and effectively in a variety of situations.

Volunteers who work directly with students are also required to complete a brief annual safety training, before serving in our schools. This training introduces key district safety expectations and procedures, helping ensure all volunteers contribute to a safe, welcoming, and supportive learning environment.
