Discover SES (Sisters Elementary School)

At Sisters Elementary, we believe that a well-rounded education means giving kids opportunities to discover who they are and what they're capable of, and we've built our programs with that in mind. We are proud to be the only elementary school in Central Oregon with a full-time art teacher, and our art room reflects that commitment, complete with a kiln where students create real, hands-on works of art. Every student participates weekly in four specials, art, music, STEM, and PE, giving them consistent exposure to creative, physical, and analytical thinking throughout their entire elementary experience. We also have a greenhouse learning space on campus where students connect with the natural world and explore science in a way that goes well beyond a textbook.

We take student wellness just as seriously as academics. Sisters Elementary is RAMP (Recognized ASCA Model Program) certified, a nationally recognized distinction in school counseling that reflects our deep commitment to the social and emotional growth of every child. Our counseling program is woven into the fabric of our school, not an add-on, but a cornerstone. We also offer a 6-week running club open to all students, because we know that movement, goal-setting, and a little friendly encouragement can do wonders for a kid's confidence and wellbeing.

Our students are readers, competitors, and thinkers. This year, 21 teams from SES participated in Oregon Battle of the Books, a testament to the reading culture our staff and families have worked hard to build. Our 3rd graders participate in a hands-on swim lesson program, and every year our school comes alive during Career Week, when community members come in to give students real, interactive experiences exploring future opportunities and career paths. It's one of the highlights of our school year, for students and guests alike.

When you put it all together, Sisters Elementary offers something genuinely rare: a small-town school with a big vision for what kids can do and who they can become. From the kiln in the art room to the greenhouse out back, from Battle of the Books to Career Week, everything here is designed to help Outlaws belong, prepare, and inspire.
